, the smartphone business of LeTV (Leshi) established in early 2015, will acquire an 18% stake in smartphone maker Coolpad Group Ltd. (HK:2369) for HK$2.7 billion (about US$353m), becoming the second largest shareholder in the latter, Coolpad announced yesterday.

Coolpad has also established a smartphone joint venture with Qihoo 360. Called QiKU, the JV is producing low-cost Android phones based on Dazen, formerly the high-end Android phone brand of Coolpad.

Xiaomi releases a cross-carrier-compatible model of Mi Note, its latest flagship phone.

The latest version of MIUI, the custom Android system preinstalled in all Xiaomi mobile devices, has added free voice calling function.

Didi Kuaidi will roll out a solution for government, similar to the one for enterprise the company launched earlier this year. (via Sina Tech) Didi Kuaidi for enterprise works in a similar way to the Uber for business.

The Chinese central government began to reduce the government’s fleet size from last year. Didi Kuaidi said they’d be happy to have the vehicles that were not in service anymore join its private car program.
