Alibaba’s mobile service division Aliyun unveils Pay Watch, a smart watch that supports Alipay mobile payments. Businesses will be able to take payments by scanning QR codes the watch generates.

It runs YunOS, the custom operating system developed by Aliyun. Apart from mobile payments, it also has functions and features average smart watches have, such as activity tracking.

The watch will retail from RMB699 (US$110). It will launch a crowdfunding campaign at Alibaba’s Taobao Crowdfunding platform next month.


RePhone Kit, an open sources and modular phone kit developed by Shenzhen-based Seeed Studio, launches its Kickstarter campaign.


Meizu launches new flagship phone Pro 5 (specs).

The company also unveiled today a smart WiFi router.


BeeQuick, a grocery delivery service, has raised Series C funding from a group of investors including Sequoia Capital and Hillhouse Capital.

Launched in 2014, the startup claims to have had some 5 million users in more than ten cities. Daily orders are more than 100,000 and monthly sales have reached RMB100 million (about US$16M). (via Sina Tech)
