Honor, the smart device division of Huawei, launched HiLink, a networking protocol for communication between connected household devices.

Honor has developed several products that support this standard, including a WiFi router and set-top box. HiLink has also signed up more than 60 third-party manufacturers.

In the second quarter of 2016 a HiLink SDK and a cloud service for connected devices will be released, and Lite OS, an in-house developed operating system for smart devices launched in May this year, will go open source.

AutoNavi, the mapping company of Alibaba Group, and Huawei Honor have jointly launched a navigation service.

Lufax, the online peer-to-peer lender of Ping An, is closing a new funding round at a valuation of US$18 billion. — Bloomberg

Baidu has established two new business units, Financial Services Group which includes three businesses, consumer finance, mobile payment and online securities, and Autonomous Driving Group.
