WeChat’s public account platform has generated a total of some RMB1 billion (US$150M) advertising revenue and more than RMB20 million (US$3M) through the tipping feature for original content creators.

Launched in 2012, the platform within WeChat enables businesses and content creators to push multi-media posts to subscribers.

There have been more than 10 million public accounts on WeChat and daily visits are more than 3 billion, according to WeChat parent Tencent.

Didi, the leading transportation network company, has had approximately 15,000 business customers.

Guazi, the used car marketplace that was spun off from the resulting company of 58-Ganji merger in late 2015, announces US$204.5 million in Series A round of financing led by Sequoia Capital and GX Capital. also participated in this round.

Guazi claims to have presence in 75 cities. Yang Haoyong, founder and former CEO of Ganji, serves as CEO of Guazi.

Game developer LineKong unveils a film and television production company to develop films or TV series based on its own game titles or other content licensed from third parties. (via Sina Tech)

The company has developed a number of games based on popular Chinese TV series. It has secured adaption rights to Monster Hunt, one of the the top-grossing Chinese movies in 2015.

LeEco, formerly LeTV, unveils two curved Android TV models together with TCL, a leading electronics company. Xiaomi launched its first curved Android TV last week.
